Timoun Yo

By 1:30 the children began to arrive at the French Red Cross. They ranged in age from ~ 3 years to 12 years with a few older ones in there. When it was time to start Francky introduced me, made sure he children knew that I didn’t speak Kreyol very well and then asked them listen carefully. They all agreed and then went back to talking and playing games, doing things that children do.

It was an amazing two hours. There were moments when sweat poured down my face as I tried to keep up with them.

After I was done with the project three of the band members played the drums while some of the children came to the center and danced or sang.

I didn’t have time to reflect on it until the next morning. I was so overwhelmed by the sheer honor of being able to spend time with such precious little people.

Thanks to dear Serge for taking the vast majority of the photos!
